Giselle Deconstruct is a reduction of the ballet Giselle to its constituent parts of madness, death, spirits, true love, grief, revenge and tradition. The playful and grotesque are juxtaposed between slow hyper-controlled motion with the athleticism of contemporary dance.
The Three Yells was founded by Veronica Lee-Baik to explore and translate modern dance through choreography, performance, and education. Based in Seattle, Washington, The Three Yells collaborates with cross disciplinary artists to install landscapes which results in a body of work that is as strikingly visual and physical as it is visceral. Some of its most celebrated creations are The Woman That Was Not There, Remember Me, To Restrain The Pillow, Jane, Moon Falling and Her Name Is Isaac.
Giselle Deconstruct is presented by Cornish Presents, City of Seattle Office of Arts & Culture and the Fremont Abbey Arts Center.
