William Wycherley’s classic comedy of coquettishness and cuckoldry, THE COUNTRY WIFE is English Restoration Comedy at its most titillating. Delighting with its corkscrew plot, audiences follow Margery Pinchwife as she is seduced by the machinations of London society. This brand new adaptation by Gregory Award winning playwright Rachel Atkins (“Black Like Us”) brings the classic comedy kicking and screaming into the modern age. Starring Gregory Award winning actor Shermona Mitchell as the titular Mrs. Margery Pinchwife, and directed by Elizabeth Wu, this version promises to leave no stereotype unturned.
